1. Parents will actively encourage and support the concepts of Strasbourg Minor Hockey Association at all times. The concepts are:
   - Respect the rules
   - Respect the opponents
   - Respect the Coaching Staff and Officials and their decisions
   - Maintain control at all times
   
2. Parents, friends or relatives are not permitted in the dressing room at the Pee Wee level and up.
3. Parents, friends or relatives are not permitted near the players bench during the game.
4. Parents shall support the whole team not just their own child. Applaud good effort in both victory and defeat; reinforce the positive points of the game. Never yell at or physically abuse any child or coach after the game- it is destructive.
5. Parents shall not embarrass their child by yelling at players, coaches, or officials. By showing a positive attitude towards the game and all of its participants, your child will benefit.
6. Parents should learn the rules of the game and support the officials on and off the ice and not criticize the referees in the presence of, or within an earshot of any player(s). This will help the development of the sport. Criticism only hurts the game.
7. Players will maintain the team dress code for games and tournaments.
8. Recognize the importance of ``volunteer`` coaches, trainers, and managers. Parents shall leave the coaching to the coaching staff, and are not to encourage their child to play the game in a manner inconsistent with the team strategies or plans.
9. Parents will communicate all and any concerns to the team manager. If necessary a meeting will be arranged between the team staff and parents.
10. Unless otherwise stipulated by the coaches, all players will be at the rink at least 30 minutes prior to practice or a game.
11. SCHOOL takes precedence over hockey. Team staff will work with parents to maintain a positive school attitude.
12. Parents are reminded that players are responsible for their own equipment. No player will be allowed on the ice without complete and safe equipment.
13. Parents shall not use abusive or foul language and any time in the rink.
14. ``FUN``, LEARNING SKILLS, AND WINNING`` is the philosophy of SMHA, and in this order.
15. Any violations of this contract will result in the following
    - First violation will result in a one week suspension from the rink while your child/children take part in any practice, game, or tournament.
    - Second violations will result in a 30 day suspension from the rink while your child/children take part in any practice, game, or tournament.
    - Third Violation will result in a suspension for the remainder of the season from the rink while your child/children take part in any practice, game, or tournament.

The SMHA fees are set prior to the season and this fee offsets expenses such as hockey school, weekly power skating, referee fees, equipment expenses, and individual pictures. SMHA other income is derived from 50/50, raffles, sponsorships and advertising. If fees are not paid by December 1st of the hockey year, that player will no longer be able to participate in any practices or games until fees are paid as set by the SMHA. Rec Centre skating fees are separate from SMHA fees. These fees are for ice time rental, caretaker wages, facility repairs, utilities etc. This fee allows the skater access to all practices, games and public usage without further costs. All fees will be collected by SMHA and cheques made payable to SMHA.

The parents/guardians of the above-mentioned player hereby consent to his/her participation in the Strasbourg minor hockey Association (SMHA) system. I/we do hereby release SMHA and its officers from all liability in respect to any injury sustained by my son/daughter while playing hockey on any sheet of ice under the jurisdiction of SMHA. I/we further agree to accept financial responsibility for any equipment supplied to my son/daughter by SMHA that is lost or damaged while in his/her custody and to return such equipment clean and in good repair to SMH. The parents/guardians and players further agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of SMHA Bylaws, Rules, Regulations, and Parental Conduct Agreement (as shown on reverse) and to adhere thereto. Registering the above mentioned player provides SMHA the ability to share name, birth date, address, postal code, phone number and hockey associated information with other hockey and sports organizations at the discretion of SMHA.
